walk like kings and wings open to the world
shrouded in blanket royalty
climb through grass and stone and night
stand to see the moon
starshine burst on faces white
see you now in feeling

shiver cold, exhale of me
did you see it?
did you feel it next to you?
first tear falls, i rip apart
walls torn now in all of comfort
told you i wasn’t myself but you knew it
there it is, finding eyes in honesty

dewed grass pillowing
beds of stone that cradle closeness

streak of light ‘cross spotted sky
stars that die–once us
now rebirthed and burning

galaxies that touch fingertips
